The School Day

The school day starts at 08:45. This means children need to be in school BEFORE 08:45 in order to make the most of their learning. If your child walks to school on their own, make sure they leave with plenty of time to get to school; and remind them to hurry!

The DFE have confirmed that Hackney had the best KS1 pupil outcomes in the country, with Parkwood being the most successful non-selective school for KS1 in the borough. Another indication that Parkwood is one of the best school s in the whole country.  Congratulations to all pupils, parents and the amazing teacher s for this achievement.  Next stop, the world!

Harvest Assembly

Please bring your harvest assembly donations into school ready  for the assembly of Tuesday 18th October at 2pm. All parents and carers are welcome to attend.

Forest School Help

Lara will be doing some more work , during the half term break, on our amazing  Forest School at Stoke Newington West Reservoir. If you are able to help with this, assistance will be very welcome. Please contact Lara, in Nursery, with offers of help.

'Thank you to all of you who came to the meeting on Monday. Minutes were available at assembly this morning and a copy is on the parent's noticeboard outside. We look forward to our next major event the Christmas fair on 8th December.

Last week, the bids committee allocated more money for projects to support children's learning including:

Art Therapy: Abi: art therapist: money granted for paint and brushes to repaint parent room (see more info further below)

Reception: plastic doorflaps to conserve heat in classroom; Maths learning resources: polydrons, people counters, play kitchen pack; Christmas decorating pack

Spanish: Raquel, Spanish teacher: whole school drama experience, for KS1 and KS2: drama & storytelling in Spanish

Music: Jane Morgan, music teacher: new musical instruments and repair of brass instruments

Yr 4 Olivia: new books about the Romans

Yr 5 Andrew: visit to the new Wetlands centre

PE: Kenny, PE and football teacher: boys football kit

Maths: Rockstar timetables licence

All together around £1500 .

Elizabeth House is still available as an extended schools service and can be contacted on 020 7690 1300.  Kids Club operates at St. John the Evangelist every Tuesday after school.
