The School Day

The school day starts at 08:45. This means children need to be in school BEFORE 08:45 in order to make the most of their learning. If your child walks to school on their own, make sure they leave with plenty of time to get to school; and remind them to hurry!

Santa’s Bike Grotto

Is your child getting a bike for Christmas?

Sometimes these bikes come boxed with minimal instruction for assembly, and guessing how they go together can be a risky business. Hackney Council’s trained mechanics will assemble your child’s bike for you, at no cost, at this special Santa’s Bike Grotto event on Thursday 22 December between 10am – 3pm at Redmond Community Centre, Kayani Avenue, N4 2HF. Come along it’s FREE! You can book online at: www.cycleconfident.com/sponsors/lb-of-hackney/ or call: 020 8356 6528.

Term Dates Consultation

The governors have looked at all of the responses and have concluded that the greater level of response was in favour of keeping the term dates as they are. The official end of the Summer term will remain as 21st July 2017. However, there will be two INSET days on the 20th and 21st July, meaning that the last day for pupils will be Wednesday 19th July. The summer half term holiday will remain unchanged 29.5-2.6.17. Thank you all for taking part in the consultation, it was our best ever response to any request for parent input.

FOP News

THANK YOU, Teşekkür ederim, Dziękuję Ci, Shukraan, Gracias, Merci, Děkuji, Dhan'yabāda, Xièxiè, Arigatōgozaimashita, Bedankt, Mahadsanid, Ti blagodaram to everyone who helped at, gave donations to, or came and spent money at our ever popular Christmas Fair. We had loads of brilliant support from teaching staff, parents, family and friends. A particular thank you to those who came to set up and decorate the hall on Wednesday and Thursday. We all had loads of fun and raised just over an amazing £1000 to support the children's education.

If you ordered a 2017 calendar they will be delivered to you soon. There will be a few spare, so let us know if you forgot to order and want to buy one. There are also some maths monkey mugs still available to buy, if you ordered one, your child should have brought it home this week.

When shopping online please don't forget to use easy fundraising to raise free funds for our school. Just follow the link http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/parkwoodprimary
