The School Day

Please remember that the school gate is open from 08:30. You can bring children in from 08:30 which gives you a better chance of being on time for school. If you aim to arrive at 08:45, your child will probably be late for school.

SATS Next Week

All Y6 pupils will be taking their SATS over the first four days of next week. Can parents please make sure that they get plenty of fresh air and rest this weekend and enforce their bedtimes over the course of next week. They have also been learning to meditate—give them some time to do this if they wish. The hard work is all done now and they just need plenty of support to get through the tough week ahead. We are very proud of how much effort they have been putting in all year. Just one more week now, before they get their reward at Kench Hill.

Grass Track Cycle Race—Y4/5

The next round of the Hackney Primary School Cycle League takes places next Friday on the May 12 at Hackney Downs. This will be a grass track race for Y4 and Y5 children. We hope to take a team of 12. We can only take children who have registered as part of our race team, if your child has signed up and not raced yet, we will do our best to include them this time.

After School Wild Club

We have just found out about an amazing Wild Club that runs at the Castle climbing centre on Wednesdays 4:45-6:30pm? It's run on Forest School principles and costs £12 / half price for additional siblings. Several of our children have already started going and really enjoy it.

FOP News

The nursery fundraising event with be next Friday 12th of May after school. Come and buy a sunflower seed and grow it at home (pot, instructions and dirt provided). A prize will be awarded for the best looking flower nearer to the end of the school year. Cakes and sweets will be on sale next Friday too.

Lara (nursery) is inviting all parents who have green fingers to come and help out with the further developments at Forest School which will be available to all children (keystage 1 & 2) in the following months. If you can volunteer some time, she will be there Sunday 28th May: 11am-2pm and Monday 29th May: 10am-2pm.

Please note that as it will involve dangerous tools and access to open water children will not be permitted on-site at these times.

Last Friday, 28 April, year 1 held their fundraiser: bag decorating and cake sale. With hard work and dedication of year 1 parents, children were able to create some fantastic bags to use and be proud of. If any children missed the opportunity to design their own bag last week, we will do it again at the summer fair!

Please keep an eye out for actions to oppose the cuts to education. The plan is to join a local demonstration in Clissold park on Friday 26th May. Sign up to our what’s app group and/or e-mail us to be involved!

Don’t forget: Summer Fair on Sat 1st July! Let us know what you can do! Also, if you could have a Portico (estate agent) sign outside your property advertising our fair, this will help raise some much needed funds. You do need permission from home owner or letting agent to do so. Let Liz know!

Also, could you Share one of our committee roles with us? Could you take on 50% of the role of Chair, or Treasurer or Secretary? Please help us make it possible for FoP to continue.

FOP has now registered for gift aid and can now claim an additional 25% on any donation given to the school. If you make a donation for breakfast club or for any other purpose please fill in a form (available from the office) and increase its value for the school.

When shopping online please don't forget to use easyfundraising to raise free funds for our school. Just follow the link
