The School Day

Please remember that the school gate is open from 08:30. You can bring children in from 08:30 which gives you a better chance of being on time for school. Please try, it helps your child, the teacher and the other children. It also sets up good habits for adult life.

Hackney Primary School Cycle League

The team attended the final grass track cycle race at Hackney Downs and had one of our most successful races ever. All children finished in the top ten in their categories and therefore scored points and we have top three placings for two children, including a final victory Nikita in his last ever race.

Parking Outside School

When dropping off children by car, please respect the parking rules outside school. There are two sets of keep clear signs which you must not park on. Please respect the safety of all children and other road users by parking only in the designated parking bays. If this means a 1 minute walk to school, then it is more exercise for you and your child.

Sports Day

We had a fantastic event this year, the highlight of which was undoubtedly the teachers’ victory of Y6 in the tug-o-war. There some brilliant team races, individual performances and wonderful weather. Next year, we have promised to arrange a parents race too!

Summer Fair

Thank you to all who made the Summer Fair such a success! All who helped organise and run it, all who donated and all who came and enjoyed the day! It was a lovely day for our Parkwood family and the total raised this year exceeded £1800!

This money will all go towards activities and resources to benefit the pupils.

At assembly today, the Summer Fair Raffle prizes were drawn with the help of our soon-to-be headteacher Paul Thomas and 16 prizes were won by many Parkwood families, neighbours and friends. Prizes can be collected from the office.

Special thanks to all businesses who donated to the raffle or fair: Blighty Coffee; Salt the Radish; Sage Kitchen; Sylvanian families; Nando’s Stoke Newington; Otantic; Atlantic; Cinnamon Creperie; Rowan’s Bowling;  London Eye; Fitness First Highbury; House of Fraser; Krispy Kreme; TM Lewin; Highbury Butchers; 4 Seasons supermarket; Arsenal Food & Wine; Riverford Veg; Stoke Newington Bookshop.

Nursery’s sunflower competition results have been postponed to next week Friday, 14th July, to be announced at assembly, so look after those for another week.

Last but not least, Halina, Liz and Laura can't keep the FoP committee going between the three of them and we haven't had clear volunteers to take up our roles so who would like to become deputy chair, deputy treasurer and deputy secretary?  We promise lots of support, encouragement and most of all satisfaction with supporting our children's school through ever challenging times! Come and talk to us,  it's easy.
